The work reflects on the use of living elements as monuments and the transient phenomena between life and death. The found palm tree is placed on bricks in the exhibition space, evoking processes of self-construction. A papier-mâché mask accompanies it, directing its gaze toward a "body-landscape": a blanket that retains the imprint of the artist's body after wrapping herself in it. This body imprint questions the artificial separation between body and nature, proposing the concept of a "relational landscape" as a fabric of affection between the human and the more-than-human. Reed poles—ritual elements associated with year-counting ceremonies and fireworks—complete the installation, along with "El Requerimiento," a colonial document that legitimized the conquest of Abya Yala. This text, originally in Latin and speculatively read without an audience or translation, is transformed into material for documentary poetry played through a loudspeaker. The piece consciously positions itself against spectacle, prioritizing collective creative processes.The video interweaves images of explorations of the Tanzhaus stage, dance sessions with fellow residents, and footage of working with the earth in a Catalan village. The soundtrack incorporates moans associated with tantric breathing practices, creating an atmosphere of intimacy and bodily connection.The textual component, read aloud sporadically, was developed from Roland Barthes's "A Lover's Discourse: Fragments," reinterpreted under the premise, of writing about collaborative methods using this text as a foundation. The piece articulates working with the earth, embodiment, vitality, sexuality, and collaboration as interwoven elements in the desire to conceive and sustain creative projects. Master's thesis project at the Academy of Arts in Bern, Switzerland, structured around a poem as a creative score. The work interweaves the poetics of the origin of cacao with the production of the first genetically generated chocolate in a Swiss laboratory, questioning the relationships of ownership and care of landscapes and ecosystems. Four human bodies dressed in military green establish a performative dialogue with cacao as the central interlocutor: singing to it, playing with it, using it as a corporal landscape, and recalling links with ancestral traditions and customs. This interaction questions extractive dynamics and proposes alternative forms of relationality with natural elements. The project culminates in an uncertain territory: faced with the possible extinction of cacao trees due to global warming, laboratory-produced chocolate could become the only vestige of an environment and potential we know today. This critical speculation interrogates the possible futures of our relationships with nature and the processes of industrialization. The work articulates decolonial, ecological and futuristic concerns, using cocoa as a vehicle to reflect on extractivism, cultural memory and contemporary ecosystem transformations.
